CREME BRULEE FRENCH TOAST

Creme Brulee French Toast Casserole
Serves 12

A delicious Crème Brulee French Toast casserole...enough said

Prep Time - 10 min
Cook Time - 45 min
Total Time - 12 hr

French Toast
1 loaf crusty bread, choose a dense bread that is a day old for best results
1 1/2 cups half & half
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla
5 large eggs
1/2 tsp salt

Caramel Sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
2 tsp half & half

To prepare
1.Spray a 3 qt baking dish with nonstick spray
2.Tear bread loaf into large pieces and place in baking dish
3.In a large bowl whish together half & half, sugars, vanilla, eggs, vanilla & salt until well combined
4.Pour egg mixture over bread, making sure to coat all of the bread
5.Cover baking dish with foil and keep in the refrigerator overnight

To bake
1.Preheat oven to 350
2.Place uncovered baking dish in the oven and bake for 30 minutes
3.While French toast is baking make caramel sauce by combing brown sugar, butter and half & half in a large saucepan
4.Bring to a boil and stir constantly for 5-7 minutes, or until a dark caramel forms
5.Keep over low heat, stirring occasionally until French toast is ready
6.After 30 minutes pour caramel sauce over French toast and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until caramel sauce is cooked down and the edges of the French toast are browned
7.Let sit for 10 minutes then serve with berries, maple syrup or just on its own
8.ENJOY!!!
